Frequently asked questions

How Shuq works, for independent sellers and for the companies that work with them.

About Shuq

What is Shuq?

Shuq is a marketplace for independent sales. Companies publish sales opportunities and set the reward paid for each customer brought in. Independent sellers choose the opportunities they want to work, sell on commission and receive 100% of the reward shown on the listing.

Who is Shuq for?

Shuq is for companies, often startups and software companies, that want to grow revenue without hiring a full sales team. It is also for independent sellers, freelancers, business developers and commission-only sales reps who want credible products to sell and a guarantee that they will be paid.

What kind of products are sold on Shuq?

Mostly B2B software and services: SaaS, AI and automation, marketing, productivity, security, finance, ecommerce, HR and recruiting tools, and agency services. Products that require a licence to sell, such as insurance, investments, credit, real estate or controlled substances, are not accepted without written approval.

Who operates Shuq?

Shuq is operated by GARCINI MEDIA Inc., a company based in Québec, Canada. Payments from companies and payouts to sellers are processed by Stripe.

For sellers

Is Shuq free for sellers?

Yes. Joining Shuq and selling is free, and Shuq takes no fee from the seller's reward. The amount shown on a listing is the amount transferred to you, before any tax, currency conversion or bank fee on your side.

How and when do sellers get paid?

When you win a deal, your reward is recorded at the terms you accepted. Once the customer has paid the company and the company confirms it, Shuq charges the company, holds the funds for a short period to cover card disputes, then transfers the reward to your Stripe account.

Do I become an employee of the company I sell for?

No. You are an independent seller. You choose which opportunities to take and when and how you work, and you can sell for other companies and platforms at the same time. You are paid per result, with no salary or minimum, and you handle your own taxes.

How does prospect attribution work?

When you register a prospect, it is reserved for you for the window stated on the listing, typically 30 days. Logged activity extends that window, and silence lets it lapse. If two sellers claim the same prospect, the first eligible registration wins, and unclear cases are reviewed by hand.

What happens if a company does not confirm my deal?

A company has 14 days from the win to confirm the customer payment or mark the deal lost with a written reason. If it does neither, the case goes to a Shuq reviewer, who can uphold the commission and collect it from the company. Each company's confirmation record is public on its profile.

For companies

How much does Shuq cost for a company?

There are two plans. Performance is free to join and to list: Shuq charges 10% of the seller reward, added on top, only after your customer has paid. Flat costs $99 per month with no success fee. Seller rewards are paid on both plans, and applicable taxes are added.

How do I find independent sellers for my product?

Post an opportunity on Shuq: describe your product and ideal customer, add a sales kit and set the reward per sale. Once it is reviewed and published, your listing is visible to independent sellers, who choose to work it and register their prospects.

Why do I need a payment method before publishing?

Sellers invest time before a deal closes, so they need to know the reward will be paid. A valid payment method on file is what makes that promise true. You are only charged when you confirm that a customer has paid.

Can I pay a seller directly, outside Shuq?

For twelve months after a seller last worked on one of your listings, the relationship stays on Shuq. A direct arrangement is allowed if you declare it, in which case a conversion fee equal to the performance plan fee applies. Relationships that existed before Shuq are not covered.

How is Shuq different from hiring a salesperson or an agency?

A salesperson costs a salary and a ramp-up period, and an agency usually charges a retainer whatever the outcome. On Shuq you pay nothing until a customer has paid you, and you can work with several sellers at once without a long-term commitment.

Still have a question?

The terms of service and the seller agreement cover every rule in detail.
